This is CS Nominee Hon Geoffrey Ruku- Mbeere North MP.
Hon Ruku’s political journey exemplifies remarkable resilience and determination. He first vied for a councillor seat in 2002 but was unsuccessful. Undeterred, he vied again in 2007 during party primaries, vied again for the Siakago seat in 2013, and vied for Senatorial seat in 2017, all 4 attempts didn’t yield victory.
His persistence yielded off in 2022 after beating his two times MP Hon Muriuki like a Muguka thief.
Today, Hon Ruku is a CS Nominee for Public Service replacing Hon Justin Muturi.
Hon Ruku and Muturi share history.
Muturi has been his boss and his Party Leader having been elected on Democratic Party Ticket. Ruku and Muturi also hail from the same clan; Nthawa Clan.
Unknown to many, Embu votes along clan lines. Embu is home to the Embu and Mbeere Tribes. Ruku and Muturi are from the Mbeere Tribe. CS Mbarire is from the Embu Tribe. While Muturi and Ruku are from the Mbeere Tribe. Mbeere is made up of several clans. Ruku and Muturi hail from the Nthawa clan- the dominant clan. Since time immemorial, the clan has voted as a block. From the times of Njeru Ndwiga, Norman Nyaga, and Japhet Muroko to Muturi, the clan has never fronted 2 candidates in any political seat. The clan also has a huge respect for power! Ruku is now the de facto Mbeere leader. With him now being the senior leader from that side of the world, don’t expect the clan to listen to someone else.
Ignore the naysayers, in case of any by-election, any candidate who will be endorsed by Ruku will carry the day.
