Residents of Chamboli Township in Kitwe District, Copperbelt Province, are living in fear due to a surge in criminal activities, particularly at night.
In an interview with Diamond News, local residents expressed concerns about a gang of unknown youths attacking people, while the police appear to be taking little action.
Gabriel Mpafye, one of the residents, voiced his frustration, pointing out that although a police post is located in the area, patrols are inadequate, which has contributed to the increase in crime.
Similarly, Joshua Mumba, another resident, stated that the insufficient police presence has led to a rise in attacks, leaving many feeling unsafe in their own community.
Residents are calling for increased patrols and more proactive security measures to address the growing crime rate and restore safety in the area.
